Archives of Trauma

submission guidelines
Submissions deadline: 15 February 2026

We invite artists and photographers to submit projects for Archives of Trauma, an exhibition exploring the many forms, layers, and interpretations of trauma—personal, historical, social, environmental, or otherwise.

Submissions may engage with trauma directly or indirectly; through documentation or metaphor; through absence, memory, distortion, healing, reconstruction, or transformation. Projects might consider:

  • Personal or collective memory

  • Silence, erasure, or the impossibility of documentation

  • Bodily, psychological, or intergenerational experiences

  • Landscapes altered by conflict, disaster, or loss

  • Social, political, or cultural wounds

  • Invented or speculative archives

  • Acts of resistance, repair, or resilience

We encourage a wide range of approaches—conceptual, documentary, experimental, staged, mixed-media, or otherwise.

The submitted projects will be reviewed and selected by the curators. The selected 6 projects will be exhibited at the House of Lucie Athens Gallery. All seven projects will be exhibited through tailored presentation strategies, allowing for variation in print dimensions and display configurations. The exhibition will be curated by Penelope Petsini and Eleni Mouzakiti.
